Urban Modelling Capabilities
Flood Modeller v5.1 now includes all required functionality to create new Urban Networks.
Build urban models quickly and easily adding Urban Junction and Outfall Nodes in just a few clicks of your mouse.
Use the map to add Urban Conduits, and calculate their lengths automatically.
Add a host of additional Urban Structures and Features to represent pumps, orifices, weirs, and more.
Add Urban Inflow directly, or draw urban subcatchments and use the map to calculate the area automatically.
Set up and run the associated Urban Simulations and run these individually or in batches to increase your productivity further.
Finally, use Flood Modeller's user-friendly interface to visualise your Urban Results within new-look plots and graphs.
The 2D GPU Solver
Harness the power of modern graphics processing unit (GPU) hardware by Using the 2D GPU Solver.
With the appropriate GPU Solver Requirements, increase productivity with significant speed increases compared to CPU simulation runs.
Find the answers to all your other Frequently Asked Questions about the 2D GPU solver.
Finally, ensure modelling efficiency consulting the GPU-specific Diagnostics to troubleshoot any issues.
Hydrological Modelling Enhancements
Specify a multitude of new options and parameters for specifying ReFH2.3 methodology within existing ReFH2 boundary nodes.
Directly access the OPW Flood Studies Update (FSU) Portal, and use this data directly within your 1D river simulations.
Increase your productivity with the option to Allow hydrology parameter overrides to your boundaries at simulation runtime.
Adjust the inflow for a simulation (select an alternative return period, scale Flow-Time series data, and more!) without any changes to the underlying network, via The Hydrology tab.
Additionally, override boundary inflow data altogether with Flow-Time Series Data provided in .csv format, storing multiple flow-time profiles for selection within your simulation.
Enriched 1D Outputs
Specify the calculation times within your Max./Min./Mean (mmm) Files to ignore the results from an initial warm-up period, for instance.
Customise charts quickly and easily using the new Quick-Edit tool and other Toolbar functionality now available for ALL your 1D river plots...
- Time Series Plot (River Results)
- Long Section Plot (River Results)
- Cross Section Plot
- XY Series Plot (River Results)
...and ALL your urban plots!
Finally, setup post-processing within the Batch Runner to further increase your modelling productivity.
Additional Efficiencies
Improve stability when using Muskingum Routing methods by setting limits to constrain the attenuation parameter.
Match your integrated 1D river/2D simulation start and end times with a checkbox provided in the River Links Tab, with no need to confirm the 1D timestep used.
For your integrated 1D urban/2D simulations, use the Urban Links Tab to match your simulation times. Here you also have increased options to select from when automatically adjusting the ground elevation to match the connected urban network.
Use Muskingum routing methods within your Event Data to improve your 1D river modelling productivity even further.
When working over a network licence, use new functionality to Change licence Edition to ensure efficiency and free up licences for other colleagues.
...and so much more!
