It has been reported that, during standard operation of Flood Modeller, users occasionally receive a pop-up notification from User Account Control (UAC), as depicted below.

This issue may occur following a Windows OS update or even after Flood Modeller has been operating without any apparent problems.
Prior to receiving this pop-up, users might be warned to re-attach their dongle or restore their network connection to reacquire a licence.
The UAC message prompts users to permit the application (CodeMeter) to make changes to the device, indicating that the CodeMeter service is inactive and the software is attempting to restart it.
The dialog window displays a core component of CodeMeter, which operates as a background service. When Flood Modeller initiates (or attempts to verify its licence), if this service is in a stopped state, it will endeavour to start it. If the current user lacks the necessary permissions, the UAC prompt shown in the screenshot above will appear.
Reason of occurrence
The service may terminate if it detects any interference, such as debugging attempts, potential hacking, or general tampering/monitoring. However, it is important to note that antivirus or endpoint protection software can sometimes inadvertently cause the service to shut down.
Solution
It is recommended to update to the latest version of CodeMeter. After updating, ensure that the 'CodeMeter Runtime Server' service is set to 'Automatic' in the Startup Type within the Windows Services manager. Additionally, you can enable the automatic restart of the service if it is found to be not running.
To do this, open Windows Services and locate 'CodeMeter Runtime Server'. Right-click on it and select 'Properties'. Navigate to the 'Recovery' tab and adjust the fields related to actions on failure. Please refer to the screenshot below for further guidance.
To prevent this issue from occurring, it is recommended to add the CodeMeter.exe service to the whitelist of any antivirus or protection/monitoring software running on your machine.
