CmDust Log

In certain occasions, the Flood Modeller support team will ask you to create and send a particular log from CodeMeter, the software Jacobs is using for licensing Flood Modeller.
Please follow the relevant set of instructions below to generate this log.

Please note that the log file may contain some IP, domain name, and username information.
It is safe to redact, if you wish to do so.

Machine with Desktop Environment

  1. Go to the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Search for cmdust.
  3. Run the application as the current user - no need to "Run As Admin". The application will run in the background.
  4. Once it finishes, a file called "cmdust-result.log" will be created in the current user's home directory.
  5. Send us the log for investigation.

Machine without Desktop Environment

  1. Depending on your installation path, run either of the following commands:
    "C:\Program Files\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin\cmu.exe" --cmdust -f cmdust-result.log
    or
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin\cmu.exe" --cmdust -f cmdust-result.log
  2. Send us the log for investigation.

You may omit the full path to cmu if it is on the system's PATH.
