    Article Summary

The batch runner toolbar includes specific functions to configure and run post-processing tasks on results obtained from the 1D river simulations specified in the batch.

    These functions are as follows:

    • Add from file – Add a new post-processing settings file and configure new post-processing tasks to use this. More details in Specifying post-processing in a batch run – Option 1 (above)

    • Output folder – By default the data files generated from post-processing tasks (image files and csv files) will be written to the associated results folder for each simulation processed. Where an analysis task uses results from multiple simulations then the results folder of the first simulations referenced will be used.

This default setting will lead to the post processing outputs from a batch being spread across many folders. However, the Output folder function enables a single folder to be specified in which all post-processing outputs will be written. Thus, all outputs are kept together in one location making comparisons easier.

Prior to running a batch with post-processing, click the Output folder button, untick the default option (Use the results folder…) and use the browse button to specify an alternative folder for all post-processing outputs.

    • View analyses – Access the current list of post-processing analyses defined for the batch run. These are displayed in a new window, as detailed in Review post-processing tasks within a batch run (above).

    • Post processing files – Review list of post-processing settings file associated to current batch. These are displayed in a new window that also enables specification of new post-processing tasks using one of the listed settings files, as detailed in Specifying post-processing in a batch run – Option 2 (above).

    • Run - Post-processing tasks can be run in combination with the simulations run in a batch. Alternatively, use this button to run all defined post-processing tasks in isolation, on results already generated from completed simulations. Note it is also possible to run individual post-processing tasks by selecting from the list of defined analyses (See View analyses above).
