The Diagnostics tab consists of options that may be chosen to give further diagnostic information about a run, as follows:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Unit Data Store | Provides information relating to unit and node numbers used internally to a *.zzt file |
Convergence Information | Writes more detailed convergence information to the diagnostics (*.zzd) file |
Direct Method Temporary Results | Outputs further information regarding a Direct Method simulation to the diagnostics (*.zzd) file, including a results table for each iteration |
Matrix Information at Specified Times | Outputs matrix coefficients to a *.zzj file at user specified times and iterations |
Interactive Controller Tuning | Allows the user to alter control unit parameters interactively (Control Module only) |
Echo Diagnostics file to Run Log | If deselected, then the diagnostics output is not written to the screen, which will reduce run times if many warning messages were to be written. A similar option is also available from the run-time menu. Diagnostics output will continue to be written to the zzd file irrespective of this selection |
Output georeferenced diagnostics file | Outputs errors, warnings and notes to a GIS diagnostic file (*.exy file), which can then be viewed within the GIS visualiser (using the button). |
Write unit summary to diagnostics file | Outputs a summary of the Flood Modeller units used within the model. For each unit the node label, node type and source data file are written to the simulation diagnostic file (*.zzd). |
Automatically save convergence bitmap | Option to generate a bitmap of the run-time graphics window at the end of a simulation. This provides a visual record of the model convergence plot produced by the simulation. File name of the bitmap image file will be the same as the Flood Modeller dat file (or results filename if specified) but with a .bmp extension. |
Adaptive timestepping initial timesteps | Option is only available for adaptive timestep run type. This enables the user to specify filenames for reading initial timesteps to be used by a simulation and saving adaptive timestep information from the simulation performed. |
Initial timestep input file | Text file (*.txt format) defining an adaptive timestep pattern to be used within simulation. Thus, multiple adaptive timestep runs can have exactly the same pattern. |
Adaptive timestep output file | Text file (*.txt format) that Flood Modeller will write the adaptive timestep pattern of the subsequent simulation. This can then be utilised as an input in future simulations to force them to use the same timestep pattern. |
