If you hold multiple network or cloud licences across different editions (for example, Lite, Standard and Professional), you can choose to open Flood Modeller at a lower edition than your maximum entitlement.
This helps optimise use of your licence portfolio. For example, users who primarily review or view models should open Flood Modeller in the Lite edition by default, rather than consuming a Professional licence unnecessarily.
- Completely close Flood Modeller.
- Locate the formsed.ini file. By default, it is stored at: C:\Users\[your_username]\AppData\Roaming\Flood Modeller
- Open the formsed.ini file using a text editor (for example, Notepad).
- Scroll to the [Preferences] section.
- Add the required lines anywhere within the [Preferences] block.
- Save your changes and close the formsed.ini file.
| Line in formsed.ini | Outcome |
|---|---|
| PREFERREDEDITION=LITE | Searches initially for a LITE edition licence for both the interface and solvers |
| PREFERREDEDITION=STANDARD | Searches initially for a STANDARD edition licence for both the interface and solvers |
| PREFERREDEDITION=PROFESSIONAL | Searches initially for a PROFESSIONAL edition licence for both the interface and solvers |
| PREFERREDEDITION=UNLIMITED | Searches initially for a UNLIMITED edition licence for both the interface and solvers |
| THISEDITIONONLY=1 | Searches only for a licence of the edition specified by the PREFERREDEDITION tag. Please note Y and T are acceptable to be used in place of 1. 0, N or F (or no line specified) give the default outcome of searching for other licence editions if the edition specified cannot be located. |
Please note that the formsed.ini file supports a wider range of configuration options than those shown here. This page highlights only the most commonly used settings.
