    Article Summary

To animate results directly in the Map, you must first have a completed 2D or 1D-2D linked simulation.

Animations can be recorded, and snapshots taken to further enhance your reports and future investigations.

    Note:

The first time you record a video, you will need to manually select a codec (from those available on your machine) within the Application Settings.

    Steps

    1. Load the 2D time series initially (see How to load 2D results).

      Tip:

You may also want to set up the view beforehand, for example, add base maps, add WFS/WMS layers that are of interest, or add a colour ramp.

    2. In the Layers panel, right-click the variable of interest and select Animate. Animation controls will then appear at the top of the Map view.

    3. Within the animation controls, click to Play, Stop, Step backward/forward, and Record the animation as needed. You can also right-click anywhere within the Map view to open a menu from which you can navigate to Save Snapshot to save the current screen view as a geo-image or send to Google Earth.

    Note:

Ensure you always close out of the animation controls when finished, as failing to do so may adversely affect functionality as you continue to work within the interface.
