In most cases, you will activate or update your licence, by opening the unique activation link which is sent to you by our support team.
Occasionally, depending on your licence or server configuration, you may need to visit our online portal (http://lc.codemeter.com/74447/depot/index.php) and enter the ticket ID for your order. This is the last 25 characters (separated in groups of 5 characters) in the link sent to you.
There are two ways of using the online portal; this page explains the process of Direct licence activation.
If the licence is to be installed on an offline machine or if you are getting errors using this method, please try File-Based Licence Activation instead. Please note that the portal supports Chrome and Edge browsers.
Activating a new licence
Open the unique activation link that was sent to you
A web page will open with a number of options displayed (2 to 5 depending on the container being used). Please select the option relevant to you. Our support team can advise if you’re unsure.
After selecting the appropriate container, you are transferred to the activation page. As mentioned above, there are two activation methods. If a web page similar to the figure below appears, please switch to the Direct activation page by clicking Direct license transfer on the right.
Please make sure you are on the web page shown below (Direct Activation).
On the Direct Activation screen, if you have multiple containers on your system (standalone, network or cloud), please select the appropriate one in the selection box. If the container does not appear, you may click the green refresh button on the right.
Click on the green button Activate Selected Licenses Now. The process may take a few seconds depending on your internet connection. You should be able to see each action being executed from the server.
Finally, you should see a message confirming the process completed successfully.
If you get any error messages, please notify support before trying again. Otherwise, you may click OK and close your browser.
Updating an existing licence
Open the unique activation link that was sent to you
Depending on whether the update is tied to the container or not, you may see either of the two screens below:
a. Update tied to container - this means the update can be applied to a particular container only in which case you can proceed to step 3.
b. General update - this means the update can be applied to any container once (given that it contains the relevant modules). Then the link is invalidated. In this case, you may follow the instructions for the ‘New licence activation’ above (step 2 onwards).
Following on from step 2a above, please click on Auto Update.
You will be presented with the Auto Update page of the portal. Please click on the green button Check License Update.
If a page similar to the one shown below appears, please click on Direct license transfer before proceeding to the next step.
Click on Transfer License Updates Now. The process may take a few seconds depending on your internet connection. You should be able to see each action being executed from the server.
Finally, you should see a message confirming the process completed successfully.
If you receive any error messages, please notify support before trying again. Otherwise, you may click OK and close your browser.
