How to select 2D simulation outputs

    Article Summary

A variety of outputs are calculated by default when you run a 2D simulation. You can customise each simulation to ensure all the parameters you require are included.

    Steps

    1. Open the simulation and navigate to the Domains tab, then click on the Outputs sub-tab. The displays all available simulation outputs in a list on the right of this sub-tab.

    2. The outputs apply to the domain highlighted. Each domain present in the 2D Domains field is considered twice; output-Domain 1 and output_max-Domain 1 contain the timeseries results for Domain 1, and the maximum values for Domain 1, respectively. Click a row within the Domain outputs field to select it and adjust the outputs for that domain.

    3. 15 parameters are available as outputs from your simulation. By default, five of these outputs are calculated; depth, elevation, flow, velocity, and relative mass error. You can check the boxes of other parameters you are interested in, and uncheck any you do not require to ensure maximum efficiency.

      Tip:

Double-click in a row in the Domain outputs field to adjust the output name, the frequency of the output (not relevant for any maximum values outputs), and the output format.
