How to edit Conduit link vertices

    Article Summary

Please note, this guide refers to the urban Conduit link, however the same method applies for urban Pump, Weir, Orifice and Outlet links.

Links created will always show as a straight line between the two connected nodes. There may be occasions where you wish to edit a link so this is not the case, for example to make it more visible if hidden by other links in your network.

To edit a link, in the 1D Urban Build tab, initially confirm you are in 1D Urban selection mode by ensuring the toggle is coloured blue.

Click the link you would like to relocate in the map view or in the 1D Urban Network panel to highlight it.

Then in the 1D Urban Build tab, click Edit Link Vertices.

The editing toolbar will now appear to the right in the 1D Urban Build tab.

The editing toolbar contains the following functionality:

    • Add Vertex - click this button, then click on your link in the map view to add vertices

    • Move Vertex - click this button, then click on a vertex of your link in the map view and drag to a new location

    • Delete Vertex - click this button, then click on a vertex of your link in the map view to delete the vertex

    • Stop Edit - click this button to save the current edits and close the editing toolbar

    • Snapping - clicking this button opens the snapping window. This will be pre-populated with any shapefiles loaded in the Layers panel of your current project. You can "snap" your link to any of these shapes. Check the box of the shape you would like to snap to and then close the snapping window. New points added close to your shapefile will then automatically snap to the shape edge.

    • Undo/Redo - click these to redo/undo the previous edit made. Undo will only be available if you have made an edit, and redo will only be available if you have used undo. Neither will be available once any edits have been saved.

Editing your links will not adjust the length set in the link properties. If you need to account for a longer length, edit this value in the link properties accordingly.

Editing your link will also have no effect on connectivity. If you want your link to have a different inlet or outlet node, edit these values in the link properties accordingly. You can move the end vertices of your links if desired. This may give the appearance of them no longer being connected to the nodes, however this is visual only.
