To link Flood Modeller with TUFLOW, you must first Point to the TUFLOW engine location within the Flood Modeller interface. After completing this step, proceed with the following instructions:

  1. Browse to the TUFLOW folder and copy the following 4 files:

    • kernels_nSP.ptx

    • kernels_nDP.ptx

    • QPC_kernels_nDP.ptx

    • QPC_kernels_nDP.ptx

  2. Browse to your Flood Modeller\bin folder. By default, this is located here: C:\Program Files\Flood Modeller\bin

  3. Paste the four kernel (.ptx) files into this folder, selecting to paste these over the existing versions

Note

As of TUFLOW version 2026, kernel files now use the .fatbin extension instead of .ptx. Despite this change, the workflow for linking TUFLOW to Flood Modeller remains the same and can be followed as outlined above.

TUFLOW compatibility

The table below shows which releases of Flood Modeller (and the TUFLOW Link) we have tested with TUFLOW (various solvers/versions) and have passed our acceptance tests.

Support(1) for the use of Flood Modeller with TUFLOW, using the TUFLOW Link, is only provided where it has passed our acceptance tests.

Passing our acceptance tests does not indicate that the TUFLOW solver/version is fully compatible with Flood Modeller (or the TUFLOW Link) and the user should always undertake their own validation tests and checks.

Other TUFLOW versions/solvers may work with Flood Modeller and the TUFLOW Link, but are not supported and use is not recommended.
