Data Input
In order to input the required information for this pollutant into the Water Quality model, the user needs to make sure that the Tab Sediment appears in the WQ General Tab (please follow the description on the page Preparing a Water Quality Datafile for this). Then the user needs to select the Tab Sediment and type in the necessary information for this pollutant in the fields which are shown on this Tab . Alternatively the necessary information for this pollutant can be typed in the .con file opened in a Textpad editor in the datafile format mentioned below.
Datafile format
Line 1 SEDIMEN
Line 2 taud
Line 3 tauf, dfluf, rhoflf
Line 4 taue, erate, rhomud
Lines 5-19 setfsh (15 lines)
Lines 20-34 setsal (15 lines)
Where:
SEDIMEN = keyword
taud = Critical deposition stress (N/m2)
tauf = Fluffy mud layer parameters: critical erosion stress (N/m2)
dfluf = maximum thickness of fluffy mud layer (mm)
rhoflf = dry density of fluffy mud (kg/m3)
taue = consolidated mud parameters: critical erosion stress (N/m2)
erate = erosion rate (kg/N/s)
setfsh = settling velocity (mm/s) of particles in fresh water as a function of concentration. Velocities given for incremental values of 50ppm from 0 to 7000ppm.
Setsal = settling velocity (mm/s) of particles in salt water as a function of concentration. Velocities given for incremental values of 50ppm from 0 to 7000ppm.
