Running the 1D Sediment Transport Simulation

    Article summary

Once you have opened an existing model file ('filename.DAT') and have a Sediment Transport Datafile ('filename.sed'), you are ready to run the 1D Sediment Transport Simulation.

To run the 1D Sediment Transport Solver, you have to make sure it has been activated by selecting 'Use Sediment Module' option from the 1D Scenario Data window > Options Tab.

Note that mobile bed simulations are only supported for unsteady (fixed timestep) runs and if the mobile bed data file ('filename.sed') is present. The 'Use Sediment Module' option will be greyed out in other situations. Good initial conditions must be specified as they will determine the flow directions for the whole simulation.

Results files will be saved at the same location of the 'filename.DAT' file. How to access and view these results will be explained in the following chapter.
