The following output CSV diagnostic sheets may be selected when using the 1D river results extractor:
Audit Trail. This option reads the .ZZD file associated with each .ZZN results file and in each case reports the:
.IED file used and location;
.ZZN results file and location;
List of all .CSV files produced and locations;
Return period;
Storm duration;
Run time and date.
This information is contained in a .CSV file called "model_name_Audit.csv’.
Raw Data. For each results file analysed this option lists the maximum stage, flow and velocity found at each node in (8,3) numerical format. If storm durations have been used then, for each return period, an additional "max’ column gives the maximum value. The data is saved in .CSV files called "model_name_Raw_Stage_Data.csv’, "model_name_Raw_Flow_Data.csv’ and "model_name_Raw_Velocity_Data.csv’.
Report Format. This option lists the maximum stage, flow and velocity data for each node for each of the results files analysed, as well as the maximum value per return period if storm durations are included. Also listed, when appropriate, are the left and right bank levels (obtained from marker positions), the minimum bed level, the GIS X and Y locations and the maximum left and right bank levels (which will be different to the marker positions except in cut-back models). Data is given in (8,2) numerical format. Data is saved in .CSV files called "model_name_Report_Stage_Data.csv’, "model_name_Report_Flow_Data.csv’ and "model_name_Report_Velocity_Data.csv’.
Return Period Check. This option checks that stage and flow increase with return period. Where a decrease occurs, the magnitude of the decrease is shown. Data is given in (8,2) numerical format. The data is saved in two .CSV files called "model_name_Report_Increasing_Stage.csv’ and "model_name_Report_Increasing_Flow.csv’.
Glass Walling. Three separate checks are made under this heading. The first compares the maximum stage to the maximum left and right bank elevations for each river and CES section. Where the maximum stage is higher, the height difference is reported; otherwise "In Section’ is shown. No glass-walling checks are made on sections which have spills attached, as it is not always clear to which bank the spill is attached. These sections are listed as "1 Spill’ or "2 Spills’ as appropriate and if only one spill is attached manual checking is needed. Data is given in (8,2) numerical format. The data is saved in a .CSV file called "model_name_Report_Glass_Walling.csv’. The second check is made on all in-line spills to ensure the maximum stage is not higher than the maximum elevation of the spill. When the maximum stage is higher the height difference is listed, otherwise it will state "In Spill’. The data is saved in a .CSV file called "model_name_Report_Glass_Walling_Spills.csv’. Thirdly, a check is made on all river and CES sections to determine if the maximum water level exceeds the bank levels. If the peak water level is within bank "In Section’ is reported, otherwise "Out Left Bank’, "Out Right Bank’ or "Out Of Bank’ is reported as appropriate.
NFCDD Format. This option presents the maximum stage, flows and velocities for each node in the standard NFCDD format for the Environment Agency Anglian Region. Data is given in (8,2) numerical format. The data is saved in .CSV files called "model_name_Stage_Report_NFCDD.csv’, "model_name_Flow_Report_NFCDD.csv’ and "model_name_Velocity_Report_NFCDD.csv’.
Freeboard. This option calculates how much freeboard exists between the maximum stage and the right and left bank elevations. Data is given in (8,2) numerical format. The data is saved in a .CSV file called "model_name_Freeboard.csv’.
Longitudinal Stage. This option prepares a formatted sheet for producing longitudinal graphs, with river sections ordered from upstream to downstream and spills, reservoirs etc. removed. The maximum stage, chainage, left and right bank levels, bed levels and maximum left and right levels is given in (8,2) numerical format. The data is saved in .CSV files called "model_name_Long_Stage_Profile.csv’.
Max Stages and Flows Valid. This option checks that the maximum stages and flows do not occur at the beginning (during the first hour) or end of a model run. This could happen due to incorrect initial conditions or non-convergence at the end of the model run. The user must enter the run time (hrs) in the box below the option, to allow the option to check whether maximum stages and flows occur at the end of the model run. The data is saved in two .CSV files called "model_name_Stage_Peak_Time_Check.csv’ and "model_name_Flow_Peak_Time_Check.csv’.
The Results Type pull-down menu allows the user to specify if stage, flow or velocity output is required, or a combination of these.
The Use Storm Durations option, if ticked, means that 1D Model Result Extractor collates the maximum water levels across all storm durations included for each return period. This box is the same as that on the Results tab.
