You may find you go to open Flood Modeller and the loading "splash" screen pops up briefly and then vanishes, and the software does not open. This issue is usually the outcome of a recent Windows update. The fix for this is as follows:
- Make sure Flood Modeller isn't running - so if you tried starting it and it failed, check there is no Flood Modeller reference still in your system Task Manager (and use End Process to remove if there is a reference there)
- Browse to the folder C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Jacobs
- Locate the most recent folder that begins FloodModeller.exe_, e.g. this might look something like this: FloodModeller.exe_Url_vi3plc0tmtpuviiryv33ixdzbwiujpxw
- Right-click on this folder and select Delete
- Restart Flood Modeller
If this does not resolve the issue, please send your latest logfile through to us and we will investigate further. The logfile is located here:
C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Flood Modeller\logs
Alternatively, copy and paste the below to a Windows Explorer window:
%appdata%\Flood Modeller\logs
