# View colour ramps

The colour ramps used within 2D results and other layers are helpful to visualise on the **Map** view. This enables you to clearly identify which colours are indicating various values. These can also be included within any snapshots you save and animations you record.

To view the colour ramp:

1. In the **Layers** panel, select the layer of interest.
2. Right-click and select **Show colour ramp** from the menu provided.
3. The colour ramp will be displayed on the **Map** view. Click and drag to move this as needed. Right-click and select **Close** to remove the colour ramp.
