# How to load an urban simulation independently of the network

Recall this option is not suitable for editing any data prior to running the simulation, to do this you must [Load the urban network](/v1/docs/how-to-load-a-1d-urban-network).

To load an urban simulation independently of the network, on the Simulation tab, click Load Simulations. Alternatively, from the Project Panel, right-click on Simulations and select Add Item from the menu.

**Note:** If you’ve added an urban simulation only and now want to view the associated urban network, right-click the simulation and select **Set Active** from the menu.
