# How to load 1D diagnostics

To load 1D diagnostics files, you must first have a completed 1D linked simulation.

The file will open in your default text editor, enabling you to quickly and easily investigate diagnostics and troubleshoot issues.

### Steps

1. In the **Simulations** section of the **Project** panel, select the simulation name.
2. Right-click and navigate to **Load Diagnostics**, then select the option **View 1D log file**.
3. The diagnostics will open in your native text editor, e.g. Notepad.
