A new grid can be created using the ‘Create New Grid’ tool which can be accessed from the modelling toolbox. Once accessed, the tool opens a new window where you can enter the details of the grid to be created, as shown below:
No. Rows – the total number cell rows. This must be an integer greater than 0.
No. Cols – the total number of cell columns. This must be an integer greater than 0.
Cell Size – the output cell size or resolution of the output grid.
XLL Corner – X coordinate of the lower left corner of the output grid.
YLL Corner - Y coordinate of the lower left corner of the output grid.
No Data Value – The input values to be NoData in the output grid. The default is -9999.
Fill New Values – when selected, all the cells of the output grid will automatically be populated with the value specified.
Use the browse button in the output grid box to specify the name and the location of the new grid file to be created by the tool. Output format can be either binary (flt) or ASCII (asc) formats. In addition an option is provided for the tool to automatically load the new grid file into the Flood Modeller viewport when the calculation process is complete.
