# Change software edition

If you hold multiple network or cloud licences across different editions (for example, Lite, Standard and Professional), you can choose to open Flood Modeller at a lower edition than your maximum entitlement.

This helps optimise use of your licence portfolio. For example, users who primarily review or view models should open Flood Modeller in the Lite edition by default, rather than consuming a Professional licence unnecessarily.

1. Open Flood Modeller.
2. Before loading a project, select the Start tab.
3. On the left‑hand side, click Info to view project information.
4. On the right‑hand side of the screen, click the blue arrow next to Licence Information.
  - Your licence details will be displayed below (this may take a minute to appear).
5. Click Reduce Licence to lower the edition of Flood Modeller for your current session

If you later need access to a higher edition, simply close Flood Modeller and start a new session.
