Modifying the elevation of an area within your model can be used for specifying elevations for proposed defences, filling holes/areas of missing data in your underlying DTM, and much more.
When your z-mod features are complete, they can be quickly and easily added to simulations.
Steps
Open the simulation. In the Domains tab, drag your shapefile (providing the z-mod area) from the Layers panel to the Add Z Mod button provided to the right of the Topography field.
Note:
Alternatively, click the Add Z Mod button to open a file explorer window and browse to the relevant file.
The Select z-mod topography files window will open. Drag the point shapefile (providing the vertices and heights for the z-mod area) from the Layers panel into the field provided. Buttons to Add and Remove z-mod files are also provided to the right of this field.
Provide a Description for your z-mod feature in the field provided and click OK. The Topography field in the simulation window will now show your description followed by all files used in parenthesis.
Note:
You can add z-mod areas, lines and points (in separate shapefiles) located within the z-mod area. Data from area vertices take precedence over data from line vertices, which in turn take precedence over data from point vertices.
Don't forget to Save the simulation.
