How to add calibration data to river results

    Article summary

Calibration datasets are hugely important to reduce the uncertainty in model results. By comparing these known data values for specific events to results produced within Flood Modeller, a user can refine parameters to improve the accuracy of a model.

    Note
Flood Modeller also provides options to Create a river calibration dataset

To add calibration data to river results:

    1. Plot the 1D river result of interest. This can be a Time Series or a Long Section plot.
      Note
You may find these guides helpful: How to plot a Long Section, How to plot a Time Series
    2. Click the Add/Remove results or calibration data button (5th button from left in chart toolbar), or Ctrl+U on your keyboard, to return to the Results Selection window.
      Note
You can also choose to add a calibration data file during the initial specification of the chart
    3. Click Add results/cal file(s) and browse to your calibration data - for Time Series plots this will be in a file with extension .cal, for a Long Section plot this will be in a file with extension .cus. Then click Plot to view both datasets within the same graph.
