Calibration datasets are hugely important to reduce the uncertainty in model results. By comparing these known data values for specific events to results produced within Flood Modeller, a user can refine parameters to improve the accuracy of a model.
Note
Flood Modeller also provides options to Create a river calibration dataset
To add calibration data to river results:
- Plot the 1D river result of interest. This can be a Time Series or a Long Section plot.NoteYou may find these guides helpful: How to plot a Long Section, How to plot a Time Series
- Click the Add/Remove results or calibration data button (5th button from left in chart toolbar), or Ctrl+U on your keyboard, to return to the Results Selection window. NoteYou can also choose to add a calibration data file during the initial specification of the chart
- Click Add results/cal file(s) and browse to your calibration data - for Time Series plots this will be in a file with extension .cal, for a Long Section plot this will be in a file with extension .cus. Then click Plot to view both datasets within the same graph.
