How to use the link-reference generator tool

    Article summary

The link-reference generator, also known as the 1D Urban / 1D River linking definition tool, is provided to assist with creating links between 1D urban and 1D river networks.

To access this tool, your river network must be loaded and active. The tool can then be accessed via the 1D urban build tab.

Note: We highly recommend your urban network is loaded and active (see the 1D Urban Modelling Overview for further details on how to do this). More on recommendations and requirements can be found in the Link References section of the technical reference.

The tool allows you to quickly and easily set up the link-references, and also visualise the link-references to check for anomalies.

Note: Recall the rules for link-reference types to ensure your node connections are valid.

Ensure your link-references are saved before closing the tool. This data is saved as a link-reference file with extension .isl.
