    To use the GPU solver, you must ensure your hardware meets the GPU Solver Requirements.

    Steps

    1. Initially Start a new 2D simulation or Load a 2D simulation.

    2. Open the simulation and select the GPU solver as the solver type displayed in the lower left corner.

    3. A pop-up will confirm the adjustment. Click Yes.

    4. Run the simulation to experienced vastly reduced runtimes.

    Note:

    • The solver scheme will automatically adjust to TVD when you select the GPU solver. This is the only solver scheme available.
    • The TVD solver requires smaller timesteps than the ADI solver. To ensure that the simulation's maximum Courant number runs around 1, the ratio of simulation time step to the domain resolution needs to be relatively small (~1/10).
    • If you adjust from the GPU solver back to the CPU solver, the TVD solver scheme will remain selected.
    • If you are using multiple domains, selecting the GPU solver will apply the GPU solver (and TVD solver scheme) to all of your domains. You cannot 'mix and match'.
