Cloud containers

Since Flood Modeller v6.0, the software supports cloud-based containers for network licences. These have all the benefits of a virtual licence, but they are not bound to one server machine only. The functionality is similar to that of a dongle, but without having to manage the hardware (usb dongle). If you request a cloud-based licence, our support team will send you a file (extension .wbc) containing the credentials to your cloud container. This file is unique to your organisation and can be used on up to two server machines simultaneously.

Note
It is important to keep your .wbc file safe.

To install a cloud container:

  1. Drag and drop the credentials file onto Codemeter Control Center. Once the container is installed, it appears in the list on the left hand-side of Codemeter Control Center window.
  2. Confirm the URL is http://wibu.cloud/74447/ and the status is Connected.
  3. Install the credentials file on up to two server machines at once if needed. To move the licence from one of these servers to a third server, click the Remove button on the machine no longer requiring access, and then repeat steps 1 and 2 on the new machine.
    Note
If the Remove button is greyed on your system, you can use the command line tool to remove a license if required. To do this, enter: cmu32 --delete-cmcloud-credentials --serial 140-1465257424

Note
  • A permanent internet connection to http://wibu.cloud/74447/ is needed.
  • If you lose the credentials file, we can reproduce one for you. However, this will invalidate any instances of this cloud container you have already in use. This can be fixed by re-installing the container by using the new credentials file.
  • Installing the container on multiple machines does not mean the licences are duplicated. They work on a first-come, first-served basis.
