# Edit networks using the Multi Edit & View tool

The urban **Multi-Edit&View** tool is designed to easily visualise and edit multiple components of your urban network.

To edit your urban network using the tool:

1. Access the tool and navigate to the components of interest. Refer to [Visualise urban networks using the edit and view tool](/v1/docs/how-to-visualise-urban-networks-using-the-multi-edit-view-tool) if needed.
2. Click to highlight the rows to be edited. Hold Ctrl to select multiple rows. Use Ctrl+A to select all rows.
3. In one of the highlighted rows, right-click on the parameter to be edited and select **Modify (selected parameter) Value** from the menu (e.g. **Modify Roughness Value**).
4. A new window will pop up appropriate to the parameter chosen.
5. Specify the modification to make and click **OK**. This will modify the parameter in all of the selected rows.
6. A column of data can be pasted in from excel or similar. To do this, right-click in the relevant parameter field and select **Paste Column Data** from the menu. This will always apply from the first row in the table.
7. An **Undo** button is provided in the top ribbon to revert changes one at a time. If you make a change with 3 rows highlighted, you need to click **Undo** 3 times to revert to the change in all 3 rows.
8. The top ribbon also contains an **Undo All** button to revert all changes made.
9. To quickly edit a single field, click the **Edit Mode** button provided in the top ribbon to toggle the mode on/off. When toggled on, this mode allows you to click in any field in the table and edit this value.
10. Click **OK** to retain any modifications and exit the tool. Click **Cancel** to exit the tool without retaining modifications specified.
11. If changes have been made, always ensure you save the changes to your urban network.
