# Datafile Layout

## Introduction
The 1D Water Quality Solver requires a file '*filename.con'* containing details of pollutants to be modelled. This file can be created  by using text editor to introduce the data with the correct syntax as it will be explained in this section. 

This section  also provides description of the general format of the 1D Water Quality datafile along with the general data which are required to be at the top of the datafile and the initial conditions data block. Additionally a detailed description of the water quality processes is presented (alphabetically).
