Conduit Channel Conveyance

Conduit channel conveyance can be calculated using Manning's equation or the Colebrook White equation.

Manning's Equation

 

k2 = A2 R4/3 / n2

where:

n = Manning's roughness coefficient

R = hydraulic radius = (A/P)

The Colebrook White Equation

 

k2 = 8 g R A2 / f

(2)

where f is a solution to the equation:

1/Öf = -2log10{(n / 14.83R) + (2.52 / Re Öf)}

(3)

and:

Re = Reynolds number

R = hydraulic radius = (A/P)

P = wetted perimeter
