Select from the categories below for further details
General
Load Urban Network
This button opens a standard Windows File Explorer window to allow you to navigate to the location of, and then load, an urban network file (extension .inp). The urban network will load in various places in the interface, including the Map view and Project panel.
New
This button allows you to create a new, blank 1D urban network. You will be prompted to first specify a location and filename for your urban network.
Save
This button saves the currently loaded, active urban network. This will be saved directly over the existing file, so use Save As or Copy (details below) if you would like to retain a copy of the original network.
Save as
This button opens a standard Windows File Explorer window to allow you enter a filename and to navigate to a save location to save the currently loaded, active urban network. The urban network is saved in a file with extension .inp. Copy also performs this functionality, but retaining both networks loaded in the Project panel.
Linking
1D Urban / 1D River
This button opens the Urban to River Linking Tool.
1D Urban / 2D
This button activates 1D Urban/2D linking in the urban network panel on the right-hand-side of the screen.
View
These checkboxes allow you to adjust the icons/labels visible on the map view, specifically those related to urban networks. These checkboxes are also available on the Home tab.
Edit
Node Properties
This button opens the properties of the urban node currently selected in the map view and/or 1D Urban Network panel.
Link Properties
This button opens the properties of the urban link currently selected in the map view and/or 1D Urban Network panel.
Urban selection mode toggle
This button allows you to toggle urban selection mode on and off. This is identical to the functionality provided by the right-click menu on the map view. You must be in 1D Urban selection mode (with the button highlighted in blue) to select urban nodes on the map. In 1D River selection mode (with the button not hightlighted in blue), you can only select river nodes on the map.
Build
Add link
This button opens a new window to allow you to add a new link to your active urban network. Links allow flow between urban nodes, and represent pipes in your urban system. This could be of type Urban Conduit Link, or an Urban Pump or Flow-divider (Orifice, Weir or Outlet) Link.
Junction
This button allows you to add a new Urban Junction Node to your active urban network. Junction nodes represent manholes and drains in your urban system, and connections between pipes.
Outfall
This button allows you to add a new Urban Outfall Node to your active urban network. Outfall nodes represent terminal downstream outflow pipes from your urban system.
Rain Gage
This button allows you to add a new Urban Rain Gage Node to the map. Timeseries data can be assigned to this, and the Rain Gage node can then provide the rain falling on Subcatchment nodes in your urban system.
Storage
This button allows you to add a new Urban Storage Node to your active urban network.
Divider
This button allows you to add a new Urban Flow-Divider Node to your active urban network.
Subcatchment
This button turns the cursor into a pencil, allowing you to draw the outline of a subcatchment. On completion of the outline, a new Urban Subcatchment Node will be automatically added to your active urban network.
Multiple (checkbox)
Checked by default, this enables multiple nodes to be added to the map once the node type has been selected.
Edit Subcatchment
This button opens a menu with further buttons to enable editing of your subcatchment outlines for visual purposes only.
Edit Link Vertices
This button opens a menu with further buttons to enable editing of your links for visual purposes only.
